The AL-KO Premium 470 VS-B is a top end rotary mower with an 18 inch / 46cm cut, variable speed power drive and Briggs & Stratton 650EXI engine. The Premium 470 VS-B replaces the Highline 477 Vario. A taller MaxAirFlow steel deck on this Premium model improves collection and helps to prevent the discharge channel from becoming blocked.
The ALKO Premium 470V-SB self-propelled mower has a 4-in-1 function which gives the user the choice between collection, rear discharge, side discharge and mulching. The grass clippings are collected into the EasyClick 70L box which has a fill-level indicator to let you know when it requires emptying. Adjusting the cutting heights couldn’t be simpler with a central spring assisted lever. Set the lever through 7 positions from 30 – 80mm. Start at the highest setting and work down for the best cut and finish on the lawn.
Instead of collecting the grass you can choose between discharging it to the rear of the mower, discharging it to the side in a neat line or mulching it into very tiny pieces. Mulching is an excellent way to feed your lawn as the tiny grass pieces are rich in nutrients and as they wilt will release these back into the soil. Mulching is recommended in drier conditions and when the grass is shorter. The pieces are so tiny they virtually disappear into lawn whilst you’re mowing.
Variable-speed transmission
This machine is fitted with a variable-speed gearbox allowing the operator to both reduce and increase the forward speed of the machine to match the cutting conditions.
Wide XXL wheels.
The XXL wheels with double ball bearings enables the mower to be pushed smoothly across grass or uneven land

The extra tall steel decks and large discharge channel increase the airflow resulting in grass clippings being thrown in a high arc to the back of the collector ensuring the collector is filled to the top and discharge channel does not get blocked.
